Sapling Learning System - Online Resource

All Chemistry 120 homework will be executed using the Sapling Learning System.  There is a $40 fee for using the system.

Here's how to sign up:

Sapling gives you a grace period on paying for access.  I do not recommend accessing the site any earlier than a few days before class begins unless you plan to pay upfront.  

1. Go to https://www.saplinglearning.com/ibiscms/login/

2a. If you already have a Sapling Learning account, log in then skip to step 3.

2b. Click on "US Higher Ed" under login in the upper-right corner.  Then, click on "Create an Account".

If you have Facebook account, you can use it to quickly create a SaplingLearning account. Click where it says  "Create my Account through Facebook" and follow the remaining directions. Otherwise,fill in the requested information and click "Create my new account". Check your email (and spam filter) for a message from Sapling Learning and click on the link provided in that email.

3. Find your course in the list (you may need to expand the subject and term categories) and click the link.  Be sure to enroll in Sanchez CHEM 120 course for Spring 2014.

4. Select a payment option and follow the remaining instructions.

Once you have registered and enrolled, you can log in at any time to complete or review your homework assignments. During sign up - and throughout the term - if you have any technical problems or grading issues, send an email to support@saplinglearning.com explaining the issue. The Sapling support team is almost always more able (and faster) to resolve issues than your instructor.

Additional Homework Assignements

On occassion I may request that in addition to the assignment listed on the Sapling Learning System you also complete additional homework problems.  You will be notifed in class and here of the assignment and due date.  If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Sapling Homework Due:

Chapters 7, 8, & 13: November 17th at 11:55pm

Chapter 11: December 1st at 11:55pm

Extra Credit (up to 35 points) Due December 6th at 11:55pm

Ch 14, Intermolecular Forces, Energy Problems, Practice Final
